Featured non-profit: United Way of the Midlands

United Way of the Midlands is embarking on a mission: to make life better for the next generation. They do this by addressing key issues like education, housing, and economic mobility through direct initiatives, key partnerships, and strategic donations to boots-on-the-ground organizations.

Young Men United is a mentorship and workforce development program designed to help young men achieve their education and career goals. United Way pairs young men in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades with mentors who will be present and invested in their lives for years to come—giving them the foundation to succeed.

In partnership with the Fairfield County School District Education Foundation, United Way has started the Village: a new project to increase affordable housing for the district’s teachers and administrators. Here, these professionals can live with their families in new, rent-controlled homes close to their school and community.

There is so much more happening at United Way of the Midlands and their associated organizations! Together, we will make a lasting impact in our community. Donate here.
