Meet Methodical Coffee, the newest addition to Columbia’s coffee scene. Founded in 2014 by coffee enthusiasts Marco Suarez, Will Shurtz, and David Baker, Methodical opened its first café in early 2015 and quickly earned a reputation for blending serious coffee craft with a refreshing, community-centered approach. What began as a passion project has grown into a multi-location roaster known for its small-batch precision, welcoming atmosphere, and famously good chocolate chip cookies.
So what can Soda City residents expect from Methodical? Think expertly roasted beans with distinct profiles—classic dark, medium contemporary, or light avant-garde—available for both drip and espresso, alongside curated tea blends and in-house baked goods made fresh daily. Whether you’re tackling work emails, catching up with a friend, or simply savoring a well-brewed cup, Methodical provides a warm and inviting space for all. With the BullStreet District now part of its footprint, local coffee lovers have a new destination worth exploring.
