Staycation in Soda City

Our itinerary for a night’s staycation in our home city: where to stay, where to eat, and where to visit.

With so many unique, wonderful places to explore in Columbia, why not give yourself the full tourist experience? Here’s our itinerary for a night’s staycation in our home city: where to stay, where to eat, and where to visit.

Where to Stay: Hotel Trundle

Rooted in imagination, hospitality, and a deep love for Soda City, preservationists Rita Patel and Marcus Munse have created The Trundle Collection: a trio of dreamy luxury experiences in the center of our city. From the flagship Hotel Trundle on Taylor Street to the nearby Flutter Wing suites and The Dens in Cottontown, Rita and Marcus are paving the way for cosmopolitan staycations and tourism in Columbia.

Where to Eat: Il Giorgione

For heart-warming, flavorful dishes that take you right to the heart of delicious Italian eating, Il Giorgione is a favorite neighborhood spot that continues to impress guests. Enjoy fresh pasta, traditional Italian pizza, and a curated Italian wine list in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere—right in the heart of Columbia. It’s Italian dining at its most genuine.

Where to Visit: The Nick

Located on the 1600 block of Main Street, Columbia’s homegrown Nickelodeon Theater offers a cozy atmosphere, film favorites—both old and new—and delicious concessions to share. This is a perfect outing for a low-cost family outing or a date night. So sit back, relax, and catch a flick at The Nick!

Where to Shop: Devine Street

On Devine Street, you can find so many small boutiques filled with home decor, chic clothing, and spa-like skincare and makeup. During your Cola staycation, walk down Devine and be sure to visit shops like Slate and Pout to see all they have to offer.
